The Church Capital Campaign - Fundraising for Building

A church capital campaign is a carefully orchestrated process to lead the church in sacrificial giving above and beyond the current tithe and offering that is specifically for purchasing land, building, relocation or renovation.

A church capital campaign is a biblically based journey that produces both spiritual and financial benefit.

Abundant Giving Capital Campaign

Church Capital CampaignAbundant Giving is a biblical church capital campaign that has been proven to produce remarkable spiritual and financial results.  Abundant Giving is able to scale with the size of the church, having been successfully used in churches to raise gifts and pledges ranging from $200,000 to $10,000,000.

Historically, a capital stewardship campaign would be considered normal if it raised between one and three times the churches current annual tithes and offerings.  In the present economy we see this to still be true, though the average has slipped from about two times giving to about one and one-half times giving on average.

Timing a Capital Campaign

Churches should plan on executing a capital campaign as far in advance of building as possible in order to become financially prepared to build.  For all but the smallest churches, it is recommended that the church allow itself 6 months or more to prepare for a campaign.  This allows the church adequate time to organize and equip a campaign team, to communicate vision, and do a good job of donor development. This would mean that a church desiring to do a fall campaign would need to begin to prepare in the spring, and vice-versa.
